If you are somewhere where the language is hard to understand this can make it easier for them to try to rip you off. But if you follow these few tips then perhaps we can stop this from happening.
1. You should never carry cash in large amounts with you everywhere you go. It is more advisable to keep most of your money in refundable traveler’s checks and try to keep these somewhere different to your cash. Keep a record of the serial numbers of these checks in case you lose some of them.
2. If you really must take credit cards with you only take the one that you are certain of using. Any other cards are safer at home. Never try to use the card once your limit has been reached as this is classed as fraud in some countries. It may be an innocent mistake but that does not matter in these countries so always be aware of your card limit.
3. Make a photocopy of your passport and also your flight details and keep these somewhere safe just in case you need them.
